"EMCL" East Mediterranean Container Line S.A.E. was established in 2004, starting its activity as a feeder operator with its own 230 TEU’s chartered vessel, moving annually over 15000 TEU’s for most of the Mega Carriers; YML, CSAV Norasia, ZIM, China Shipping, Hapag Lloyd, Senators, CMA/CGM, Evergreen and Maersk Line.
In 2005, EMCL acquired its own fleet of dry and reefer containers and started to serve directly exporters and importers to cover for the shortage of equipment and insufficient service offered by a limited number of shipping lines serving in the East Mediterranean Region.
In 2006 EMCL increased its fleet of 20' & 40' dry and high cube reefer containers to cope up with the increasing demand of export and import traffic.
EMCL activities now are not only limited to the East Med Region, but has widen its network of services to cover also North European and Black Sea areas, having a regular weekly services to: Syria, Lebanon, Turkey, Greece, Ukraine, Romania, Italy, France, Spain, United Kingdom, The Netherlands and Germany.

EMCL’s fleet of 20' and 40' dry, high cube reefer containers, reefer trailers, its network of professional agents and its modern computerized system have allowed an annual movement of over 15000 TEU’s.
